Overview:
Troops of the BHC’s Marine division moved into and attacked the [3rd
ID] in the town of Saint Mere Eglise on November 26th,
2005. Led by 1Lt. Malarkey and 2Lt. Smokin Joe, BHC moved in quickly,
utilizing smoke and covering fire to provide safe passage to key
positions within the town. Sgt. Mr.B led a squad through the towns
graveyard providing cover for the main assault team and engaged the
enemy with superior fire power. BHC also utilized their C4 charges,
and was able to knock out several Flak-Panzers, allowing them to get
air support. The [3rd ID] were expecting a small unit to
attack them, and were severely cut down by their underestimate.
Within an hour, the town of Saint Mere Eglise was controlled by BHC.
After switching sides in the scrim,
BHC took on the defense of Carentan. BHC’s primary goal was to
protect the two Half-Tracks that were temporarily disabled in the
town, awaiting inspection. Many acts of bravery and heroism were
shown by the soldiers of BHC in attempt to keep the vehicles intact.
The [3rd ID] was able to destroy one of the two
Half-Tracks, but after a hard and long fight finally retreated from
the town. Resulting in an overall BHC victory.
2Lt. Smokin Joe was awarded the Bronze star during the Carentan
Defense.
